Belgian born and Berlin-based DJ, Luz is the cofounder of Room 4 Resistance – a queer femme / non-binary forward collective focused on community-building and creating safer space & visibility for underrepresented artists in dance music. Since 2014, R4R runs parties, curates panels and workshops to promote women, gender queers, non-binaries, trans, black and POC artists – to explore the political dimensions of the dance floor, and create bridges between different communities. Luz also hosts a monthly Room 4 Resistance radio show alongside Doc Sleep on Lisbon’s Ràdio Quântica.
In addition to their training as a film director, Luz has been involved in the electronic music scene for over a decade, first as a promoter in Brussels and later working for different music labels and booking agencies in Berlin.
Luz has collected records since early childhood and started Dj-ing in 2012 with a focus on building narratives through music across genres such as Detroit techno and electro, UK Bass and techno, Deep techno, experimental, left field and more in between. Luz has performed at countless international venues, highlights include Panorama Bar (Berlin), De School (Amsterdam), Et Andet Sted (Copenhagen), Industry Brunch (Detroit) & La Station Gare Des mines (Paris).
