Merve Namli (born 1988/Turkey) is an urban feminist writer propagating information on the role and function of language in politics, media, music and the art world. The issues covered in her writing are “ranging from populism to anti-feminist discourse in mass-media to cultural transition between Turkey and Western World”. She has been working as a qualified translator and interpreter for various public institutions for 8 years. As an activist, she collaborates with anti-fascist and feminist organizations in Turkey and Europe. She writes under various nicknames because of the current political restraints in Turkey.
